    奥运会即将到来，我们沈阳也是奥运会的一个分赛场，为了让更多国内同胞和国外友人了解我们沈阳，奥运期间，看比赛之余，赏美景，我特别写了几篇我们沈阳中英文对照的景点介绍。

    奥运城市——沈阳欢迎您（一）

    ——北陵公园

    沈阳是辽宁省的省会，东北地区的经济、文化、交通和商贸中心，全国的工业重镇和历史文化名城。这里有正直百花盛开，清净幽雅的世博园；有清朝入关前的故宫；有皇太极的陵墓——昭陵（北陵公园）。

    首先，请允许我先向各位朋友介绍一下北陵公园。

    北陵公园占地面积330万平方米，1927辟为公园，闻名中外的清昭陵位于其中。陵内殿宇和门、坊、碑、亭林立，金瓦红墙，光彩夺目，彰显出皇家陵园的雄伟、壮丽。陵外古松参天，现存三百年以上树龄的古松被誉为“活文物”，其中“神树”、“凤凰树”、“夫妻树”、“姐妹树”、“龟树”等更是形神兼备，别具特色。

    园区内草木葱茏，四季纷呈。种植近200种植物的芳秀园，长约百米、柳树成荫的柳堤堪称是园中精品。30万平方米的宽阔人工湖面，夏天碧波荡漾，乘坐脚踏船、快艇观光游玩，泛舟湖上，别有一番情趣。

    Special Features on Celebrating the Olympics

    The Beijing Olympics Games are coming soon. In order to let more compatriots and foreign friends know Shenyang, one of the co-cosponsor cities, I wrote several articles to introduce some scenic spots in Shengyang, both in English and Chinese, so that they can both enjoy the games and the beautifual seneries as well.

    ——Beiling Park

    The capital of Liaoning, Shenyang, the center of economy, culture, traffic, business and trade, is an industrial post and famous city of history and culture in the whole country. There are a lot of beautiful scenic spots, such as, elegant and quiet World Exposition, where all flowers are in bloom now; Imperial Palace, which is the imperial palace of Qin Dynasty before they went into Shanhai Guan; the tomb of Huang Taiji(He is the second emperor of Qing Dynasty)---Zhaoling, that is Beiling Park.

    Firstly, Please allow me to introduce the Beiling Park to you.

    Beiling Park,3,300,000 square kilometers, was established to be a park in 1927. The world-famous ‘Qing Zhaoling’ is located in there. A forest of palaces, gates, arches, tablets and pavilions in the park,togeher with the splendid gold tiles and red walls, show the magnificence of the royal cemetery. And outside, ancient pines tower to the skies, some of the them, over 300 years old, are called “Living Cultural Relic” , and among them,“ Magic Tree”, “ Phoenix Tree” , “Husband and Wife Tree”, “ Sister Tree” and “Tortoise Tree” , who are very unique characteristic(feature) in both of shape and spirit.

    In the park, luscious growth of vegetation is abundant in all four seasons. Fangxiu Park, with nearly 200 kinds of plants, is about one hundred meters long, and the embankment with the shades of the willow trees may be rated as the fineest works within it.The wide artificial lake measuring 300,000 square meters in area is rippling with green wavelets in the summer. And if your tastes extend to boating on the lake, you can enjoy sightseeing by pedalo or yacht.
